Chinese Tea ceremonies are very important in our wedding tradition. It consists of 2 parts at the bride's home and groom's home respectively. In our culture, serving tea is how we show respect and love.​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​

出門 ceot1 mun4​​​​​​​​ - Leave the bride's house

After the door games, Tea Ceremony starts with serving tea to the bride's parents with the couple kneeling down.​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​

Blessing phrases are said by a blessing lady every step at serving, taking and drinking the tea. The couple will receive red packet and gold ornaments from the parents. ​​​​​​​​

Blessing is given with these steps from the bride's parents before the bride leaves home to join a new family.​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​

入門 jap6 mun4​​​​​​​​ - Enter the groom's home.

The couple then leave the bride's home and repeat the tea serving steps at the groom's home. ​​​​​​​​

出門 (ceot1 mun4​​​​​​​​) & 入門 (jap6 mun4) complete the Chinese wedding traditions on the wedding day.
